Dr Geethani Gunawardena
Dr Geethani obtained her MBBS from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1993. She has been working as a GP for over 20 years.
She has worked for about 15 years in Sri Lanka and has gained experience in many different fields: Surgery and Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General and Maternal Intensive Care, Premature Baby care and Neonatal intensive care.
As a doctor, she is caring, empathetic, a good listener, and believes in a holistic approach.
She migrated to Canada in 2009 and then to Australia in 2013. She obtained her Fellowship (FRACGP) in Australia and has been practicing as a GP in Perth since 2013.
Her areas of special interest are Women’s health, Mental Health and Children’s health, as well as Chronic Disease Management, Minor Surgeries and Aboriginal health.
She is fluent in both English and Sinhalese. She is a mother of two children, and her hobbies include reading, playing musical instruments, cooking and travelling.
