Did you know?
There’s more than one type of GP role offering at St John. For those who prefer to treat patients in more traditional appointment-based consults, our medical facilities also include a regular general practice.
The Urgent Care role is well-suited to those looking for a change of pace, or for some more variety, some GPs choose to work across both.
Working in Urgent Care
Our Urgent Care centres are large purpose-built facilities which have digital x-ray, casting and splinting capability on site, as well as facilities for minor procedures, IV administration and acute dental care.
These centres replicate some features of the hospital environment. All imaging is expertly reported by Perth Radiological Clinic. St John Urgent Care centres have specialists on call to provide orthopaedic and plastics advice throughout extended hours, rapid radiology reporting arrangements, and a review clinic to follow up results and manage non-operative fractures and injuries over time.
The service is very popular with patients and offers excellent clinical exposure for GPs who like to work in a team environment and manage injuries and non-life-threatening illnesses.
To work with St John as a GP in Australia, you must have Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). We will provide you with all the relevant forms and information to help you through the process should you need us to.
We will also provide more information on the GP opportunities available within each St John practice, including contract and income information.
