Dr Abubakr Hussain
Dr Abubakr Hussain is a Specialist General Practitioner and GP Lead for St John Medical Cockburn. Dr Hussain takes great pride in his friendly and caring approach. He is passionate about treating all his patients as individuals and delivering high-quality evidence-based care.
Dr Hussain graduated from The University of Manchester in 2008 and has been working in Australia since 2017. He has gained extensive experience working in multiple medical and surgical specialities. On completion of his GP training, he was awarded GP Registrar of the year.
Dr Hussain is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in England and has a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine. He is an accredited WAGPET supervisor for GP Registrars, and an Examiner for a number of Medical Schools.
In addition, Dr Hussain has completed a Masters of Research in Public Health. He has a number of Publications to his name and won awards for his presentations to learned international societies around the World.
Dr Hussain’s international experience includes volunteer work in Nepal and Malawi. He is also a Member of the Global Council Leadership Team for the ‘Young Global Leadership Foundation’, an organisation based at the UN in New York, working towards building a peaceful, prosperous and positive global society.
In his spare time, Dr Hussain enjoys reading, hiking and cricket. He is a proud father of two young daughters who inspire him daily with their joyful adventurous spirit.
